After four and a half years of trying to operate out of a portable trailer during the renovation of the city’s premier gourmet row, All The Best Fine Foods has finally just moved into its glam new digs.
The new store is a beauty. Beyond the Victorian brick façade on Yonge St., which has been both lovingly restored and neatly brought up to date with a large plate-glass window skirted by dark-painted wainscotting, is a 2,400-square-foot shop that evokes the rough-and-tumble charm of a country market without veering into dangerous Laura Ashley territory. The new and improved All The Best joins neighbours Pisces seafood, Oliffe Meats and the smashing new Harvest Wagon, its long-awaited completion made all the more poignant by the recent tragic death of its developer, Paul Oberman.
