“I have always kept my eye on the ball,” says Virginia Poly, 38, head of Poly Placements Inc., a company that recruits for organizations of all sizes.
Recognition has also skyrocketed. In December, Poly was celebrated at the Canadian Women Entrepreneur Awards. In 2009 Profit magazine listed Poly Placements as the sixth fastest growing start-up in Canada, and Poly was listed on the Profit W100 list of women entrepreneurs in 2009 and 2010.
The Yonge and Davisville-based business operates with 50 full-time and contract employees. In 2011 Poly plans to grow the team by 50 per cent and progress from a “start-up or underdog” to an established name in Canadian recruiting.
