Harper Warning Interest Rates Going Up
Prime Minister Stephen Harper is warning that interest rates are bound to rising in the coming months.
In a year-end interview with CTV, Harper says that, while he's optimistic that 2010 will be a year of economic recovery, Canadian families should be prepared for higher credit charges.
The Prime Minister is hinting his government may continue the home renovation tax credit for another year, which is due to expire at the end of January.
When asked about speculation he may prorogue Parliament over the Christmas break, Harper would only say that his government hasn't made any decisions about a throne speech yet.
He does say the next federal budget will come in March.
