Need to Paint... Visit the Leaside Paint Centre

Need paint… where do you go if you live in Davisville or in Leaside? Chances are that you will go where the paint experts are, the Leaside Paint Centre.

So off I went to meet with Raymond Gork, the owner of the Leaside Paint Centre. Imagine my surprise when he said that this same store had been operational in one way or another for over 80 years!

This retailer was originally known as the Gord Davies Hardware store (Raymond even has a newsprint ad dating back to its original days on the wall, thanks to a generous patron who found it and brought it in for him). Believe it or not, this 80 year old ad is for a Benjamin Moore product!

Over time, the Gord Davies Hardware became Allen’s Home Hardware store, one of the first Home Hardware stores in Toronto. In 1979, Raymond purchased the Allen’s Home Hardware store and continued operating as a hardware store until it was apparent that paint was a priority for his clients in the area. An astute business man, Raymond decided to convert the hardware store to a Benjamin Moore expert paint centre.

Raymond was also one of the first to implement a computerized paint color system over 20 years ago. Obviously, he has always been a forward-thinking businessman. This is the kind of paint store you can walk into and feel totally comfortable asking any paint related question (even the silly ones, I did, and these guys were brilliant). The people working here are seasoned professionals and will not only sell you paint; they will also answer all those nagging painting related questions.

Drop by and be tempted. After all, experts like Martha Stewart and Debbie Travis says that a can of paint is the most economical way to redecorate a room. So let your imagination run wild!
