McSorley's Saloon and Grill

I am one of the thousands of regular patrons of McSorley’s Saloon and Grill. I usually make my way into the darkened saloon, crunching on all the empty peanut shells on the floor (yes, these good folks obviously have a large investment in Hoover because they encourage us all to make a mess and throw our empty shells on the floor). But today its 2:00 pm and there’s no crunching underfoot while walking to the bar, the saloon is brightly lit and I’m meeting with Simon Hanlon and John Anderson, co-owners of McSorley’s Saloon and Grill.

For those of you who do not live in or around Davisville or Leaside, McSorley’s Saloon and Grill has been around since June of 1991 and is stronger (and stranger) than ever entering its 18th year of business. A local institution with slogans like “An embarrassment to any neighbourhood!” or “We use the finest ingredients we can afford!” you can tell these guys and everyone who works here, had better have a great sense of humour! The loyal local patrons who gather here each night can vouch for the quality of the food and the quality of the service from all of the party animals who work here!

McSorley’s Saloon & Grill is first and foremost a sports bar! Probably one of the best in town. In their latest poll, the Town Crier readers voted McSorley’s second for Best Burger in Toronto (second only to Licks, no less) and they voted McSorley’s Best Neighbourhood Bar in Toronto, these guys have a lot to cheer about! And cheer they do! Every hockey night is a special night at McSorley’s and everyone cheers, every football night… and every baseball night… and… OK… OK, so you get the picture. However, McSorley’s is also a great family restaurant where kids (and parents) feel right at home coming for dinner and get great value for their dollar.

So why not drop by for yourself and see what all the hoopla is about! McSorley’s serves lunch, dinner and also does brunch on weekends and the kitchen stays open until 2:00 am 7 days a week, for those night owls who get a craving for their chicken wings, their big fat Greek wraps or their peppered steak salad!
